What’s better than real experience?

At Black Hills State University, I help shape how the world sees us—through design, photography, and social media. From campus-wide campaigns and admissions materials to aesthetic projects like the locker system wrap, each piece contributes to a larger goal: keeping BHSU current, cohesive, and true to what makes this place stand out. Giving back to the university that’s given me so many opportunities feels natural—and being able to tell my story to future students makes it all worth it.

Let Gen Z
attract Gen Z.

What happens when the Content Creators break all previous records? Or when they are the main reason the university’s starship account hit 6000 followers and is growing exponentially? Creativity meets strategy. The following content was created collaboratively with the BHSU Social Team & with gracious talent by none other than Sting himself.

How I started the

Student

Headshot

Event

In Fall 2024, I proposed the idea to my university marketing team to start a free student headshot event. I saw it as a needed service and wanted to make it a reality. We teamed up with the Career Development office to enhance the event. BHSU Peer Mentors helped students 1-on-1 with their LinkedIn profiles, while we took headshots for every student in attendance. This event helped students avoid the cost of professional headshots and stand out in a crowded market. The event was a huge success and, now in its second year, we have photographed over 100 students headshots.
